Back home in the erstwhile Fastest train between SBC and MAS.

Dep at SBC: 16:20 hrs.
Arr at MAS: 21:03 hrs( inspite of numerous TSRs and slow down due to clearance enroute).
Total duration: 4.63 hrs.( 4hrs 38 mins).
Avg speed for the trip: 77.48 kmph.

Is the KPD stop really justified for the SBC-MAS shatabdis or is it simply a food loading pit-stop or a political ploy?
TT revision will result in a min 30 min speed-up, 02028 mostly reaches KPD by 8:50 & waits for 10 mins for the green & still arrives MAS at 10:45.

There are lot of bookings to katpadi for both Shatabdis and Double Dekker. U can follow the respective train blog posts of the last few days posted by Chennai mail. People working in VIT and Vellore Hospital CMC are staying in Chennai and commuting from there.
