I would hope for the same but extension demanders are everywhere and Nagpur has a bad history in retaining trains.
Raipur, Bilaspur, Chhindwara, Balaghat, Gondia the list is endless.
Some time ago a saw a blogger demanding diversion of Secunderabad Raipur Express (originally Secunderabad Nagpur Express) via Balharshah Gondia Route, bypassing orginal destination Nagpur in a way to "save time" for Raipur Passengers 😂😂.

Even CR doesn't care much about Nagpur, Bilaspur Rajdhani- a Rajdhani class Premium Train whose major passenger boarding is from Nagpur is diverted via Godhani.
By the time of next elections 2- 3 trains to Pune/Mumbai will get extended to Chattisgarh.

is like an island in the sea, Water (trains) all around but not a drop to drink (seats).
Same is the curse of Bhopal as well.
Once even I had to book my seat from Secunderabad in Bengaluru Rajdhani in order to get a seat from Nagpur to Delhi. I guess that must be a normal practice for people of Nagpur, although Amritsar AC Express is helpful in that matter nowadays.
One of the trains from Nagpur to Pune need to extend/divert to Madgaon via Konkan for the benefit of Nagpur.
