A reminiscence of the glorious past of Gwalior Light Railway ! NRD # 1001 from DLS/Gwalior (GWL) also known as Diesel Rail Car silently awaits it's fate. Approximately 7-8 units were manufactured by Ashok Leyland with a rating of 300 HP. Besides, serving as a railbus these units also had the capacity to haul a maximum load of 4 coaches. One can also see Central Railway written in Hindi " मध्य रेलवे" which indicates the time when CR covered a huge territory till the National Capital & there were no zones like the present day NCR, WCR, etc.
