I tracked speed through GPS Speedometer. The main difference might be lying in the intensity of the sound most probably.
Yes ,you are right probably .Pitch of sound ( Intensity and also sound from track ) will vary minutely between 110 MPs train and 130 MPs train .
But if train is going at 70 and later at 120 ,by sound you can gauge the speed easily
