Lucknow: Lucknow Development Authority on Tuesday proposed to shift Kaiserbagh bus depot to Jankipuram and construct new bus stations on the outer ring road.

“Avadh bus stand on Ayodhya road has reduced the load of bus traffic at Kaiserbagh depot, but still around 1,300 buses operate from here causing traffic jams in many city areas. To solve this problem, we have proposed to UPSRTC to shift the depot to Jankipuram, along the Sitapur highway,” said Akshay Tripathi, vice chairperson, LDA.

The LDA will allot land to the transport department.

“We also had discussions to further redevelop the available land of Kaiserbagh bus depot,” said Tripathi.

“Considering the future needs of the city, we have also proposed bus stands on the outer ring road. Transport department officials have been asked to decide about the location of bus stations on the outer ring road. We will provide land accordingly,” he added.
