Well, value was lost even before introduction as Jamtara, Patna Saheb etc aren't exactly value addition propositions.
Had the halts been Jasidih and Asansol only then I would've agreed with your point. Now since a station has already got halt due to a criteria, why can't some other ? Halting of Vande Bharat over say Howrah Rajdhani is a great proposition any day.
