Arnab_K~ 9400 blog postsWhy is this train being run through the BWN-HWH Main line if it is not halting anywhere in between ?
Granted it is a special train and it's priority is bottom low, this decision is baffling !
If run through the HBC line at-least a hour could have been cut off.

Koi logic hi nahi hai. Anyone of NH/BDC should have been given if the train is running through mainline. Kulik ka bhi same hi case hai, no logic of skipping BDC considering how much populated both Hooghly banks are.
It may have been done to minimize the crossovers at Dankuni. Moreover, specials don't get enough respect to have a proper running slot, how can we expect one to get a shorter route where the prestigious trains run.
At least Bandel could've been made a halt, it isn't doing any track burning run in HBM anyways. But being an NR train, it's being run in NR sense, i.e. without any real sense. Perhaps, they thought they could run it on whatever route is free, like they sometimes did on the BSB-LKO lines.

BDC skip is beyond me.
Such a major station is neglected, given the fact the trains from NH side are more often than not held up at BDC anyway for joining up the HWH-BWN Main line.
