There is no use of extention to Madgaon for this train for Hyderabad as already connected dedicated biweekly train. Even Gokarna to Mangalore section those who can afford to pay 2 AC fare travel by bus while sleeper and 3AC only will travel to Mangalore and most travelers are headed to Khozikode and Kannur while the next preferred sector is Renigunta North Kerala Mangalore. In the extended potion is will be useful for Udupi Kundapur people to travel to salem to Renigunta.

There has been no representation from Coastal Karnataka nor Tamil Nadu regarding introducing a train between MAQ and MAS through SWR.

SR has so far not felt the need to operate even a Special train (which whenever it does between MAS and MAQ, but only via SRR).

If the extension eats into the quota of Malabar passengers bound for Hyderabad (especially the return train), it would be better to break this into two restoring the old one and run the new train from AP/TG to coastal Karnataka via KPD-SMVB-HAS or GTL-ASK-HAS.
