Between Mankapur and Allahabad, it has an average of merely 34 kph despite, I guess, signalling and mps being improved in this section. They can offset some speed decrease in other sections by giving it a leg up here.
In 12531 's defense, some stoppages were removed as well after they yielded less pax. I remember Maghar being a stoppage for some time and Jarwal Road too and both were removed latter because patronage was too low. But yes, stoppages at Sahjanwa and Babhnan did cause the average speed to go below 55 kph.
Is there any timeline as to when GKP-LJN section might be upgraded to 130 kph? That'll help all trains including crawlers like LJN-BJU as well.
According to CPRO NER statement in newspapers by the end of 2025.
