Complaint and response from pg portal
This is regard to the problem faced generally by trains coming from Salem towards Bangalore-The Thoppur ghats-Being a single line, trains wait for crossing on this section but the crossing at Thoppur is a nightmare as trains generally tend to get delayed here. This is due to the fact that the crossing of the ghat section takes about 30 mins and hence train on other side have to wait for minimum 30 mins to endure the crossing which delays their arrival at Bangalore. Though Muthampatti station is present in the ghats, its a halt station with no loop line sna dprovides no use I hereby request the concerned authorities to kindly make arrangements for a new

loop line at Muthampatti so that train can proceed to halt at Muthampatti thereby saving atleast 20 mins of their travel time- This is a kind request on behalf of all passengers on this route especially those who travel by 16731 tuticorin Mysore Express which generally gets delayed after this point Also please kindly make arrangements to make Bellandur Road station in Bangalore city Limits also with a loop line so that trains can move from crowded Baiyappanhalli station to Bellandur Road for crossings-if not trains which have to board the Hosur line are forced to wait at Baiyappanhalli till the crossing train travels from Carmelram, cross the points and enter Baiyappanhalli Please consider the above points for minimizing delays on Bangalore-Salem Line Thanking you
Response for that:
Date of Action : 18 Mar 2013
Details : Your suggestions to improve punctual running of trains is appreciated. However, it is to inform you that, Train No.16731 Tuticorin-Mysore express has to cross Train No.11013 Lokamanya Tilak (T)-Coimbatore Express at Toppur daily. This scheduled crossing at Toppur is not the only reason affecting the punctuality of Train No. 16731 Tuticorin-Mysore express. There are several factors which affect train running. This is for your information.

Nice reply. " We cannot take action and don't worry about punctuality" is what they meant.

Well, they also meant that if loop is made, it will still continue to run late. You (yourself) need to find out more reasons and give it to them.
