Golden Rock's Electro Motive Diesel starts accelerating with 16630 Malabar Express as soon as it approaches tokkottu after crossing Nethravathi bridge! the loco #12620 is the same loco which hauled my 12619 exactly a week ago. The other train seen in this pic is 16518 CAN-YPR express which was awaiting for this train to cross NTVT so that it gets a all clear for it's journey to MAQ!

Its kind of nostalgic for me, the new Netravathi Bridge started construction when I joined my BTech in Mangalore, and got commissioned the day I left back home from college after my final year (I travelled through the new bridge as per my wishes).
Well, my doubt is, why does trains still have to wait in the UP line for the DOWN train to clear? isnt the UP and DOWN bridges used separately? I remeber having the MAQ-NTVT B cabin getting connected to the new bridge.

Secondly, I remember them creating a new approach for the new bridge, so did they remove the old DOWN line? I would be glad if u could post some pics near the Bridge..!! I miss this place :(
