Dear Concern,
As per the latest notification refund rules have been modified by Railways. In view of the same current
process for TDR mailing process is modified as:-
1. The TDR request mail shall now be emailed to :- agenttdr@irctc.co.in,
all
...
the Principal Partners would now send the TDR email from their company registered Id's to this new email only.
The old mail Id of etickets@irctc.co.in shall NOT accept the TDR requests from 1-July-13 onwards.

2. TDR mail should come to as Individual PNR request that is one mail would have one PNR for TDR Filing.
This means sub-agent should ensure to email for TDR as and when the request comes.
TDR Format is attached reference. Multiple TDR requests in one mail shall NOT be acceptable. Bulk TDR
request in one mail will NOT be acceptable
3. Time Line of sending TDR requests ----Your sub-agents should ensure TDR request should be mailed to agenttdr@irctc.co.in
Immediately After chart preparation and within 1 hour of actual train departure... This time limit would ensure
that IRCTC team can file TDR refunds as per PDF Para 7A rule no.(9) & (10)..
(Refer for details - click here
Note 1:- After 1 hour of train departure NO request for TDR shall be acceptable, as
time would also be required filing TDR by IRCTC.
Note 2:- Since the TDR filing time has been reduced , all the Principal Partners should ensure the TDR/Cancellation
refund rules are informed/circulated to their sub-Agents and customer to ensure that TDR is filed much in time.
Refer to the Amendments in Refund Rule PDF Para 7A rule no.(9) & (10).

I think IR was particularly eyeing to negate Pax from Cancelling of tickets for various reasons after Charting and etc etc.
So that max revenue can be kept at IR's perusal from Cancellation processes.

Thanks for the nice discussion विश्व नाथ Sir Kishor Sir and Sabhya Sir
hope every traveller read this discussion and act accordingly there should be a revolution
But fact is if one books sleeper ticket from ctc to hwh the fare is Rs.230 why will he take pain to file a TDR at midnight {those who have net at home will do... others ?} and are ready to cough up a 100 bucks. And just for a mere 100 bucks why shall he take the trouble of filing a suit.RB knows that
...
its a income for them.....but what i say ........is it an income or cheating by the knowledge of the traveller ?????. ....... its like country looting its country man :O
Earlier TDR was to be filed in a month from the DOJ.......... was the rule
new rule just a couple of hours :O
eticket apart .......... shall a traveller who cancels his journey at the last moment of the train at midnight ......... shall he go to the PRS for cancellation/TDR/refund ........ for just a 100 bucks which will cost him the auto fare to PRS
allz just mess

You have used the ideal phrase here Ajay-ji.
I totally agree with you for the concern of the passengers and the trouble to cancel I-Tickets/PRS tickets post 8pm.
