Its no surprise as Vikramshila has to be overtaken by Rajdhanis/GRs before Mgs which cost aprox 1-1.5 hrs for this train.. Otherwise, this and SK may prove to be fastest..

Problem is with the IR timings, completely illogical timings allotted -
For example -
12402 is scheduled to take less time than 12802, everywhere upto MGS
How can it be possible -

5 stops upto CNB, whereas 12802 does not have any stop upto CNB
U can see that so many super fast trains, Durantos, Sampark Krantis, and even few passenger trains run just before 12402 from NDLS to CNB route; whereas when 12802 departs NDLS, hardly there is any super fast train and also no EMU / DMU running ahead of it, so it enjoys the priority.
Still 12802 is allotted more time than 12402 between NDLS and MGS. There is no logic for this time schedule.
