A rustic, scenic, mesmerizing location -
Shindawane is a hamlet in Pune District, the station is on the PUNE-MRJ Line. The entire area is hilly and there are numerous rock cuttings around. It is a treat to watch trains come out of tunnels in the Ghats and snaking, curving in between the rock cuttings. The station is also a part of Shindawane Ghats and the natural splendour is worth looking at during monsoons from June-September. Many RFs have called this place as the Scotland of India, for the green pastures, village
homes, cattle, waterfalls, streams, etc. will surely remind you of an exotic travel location overseas.
How to reach:
From Pune, take passenger bound to STR/SLI/MRJ/KOP and alight at Shindawane.
By Road: Take Pune-Solapur Highway, at Uruli Kanchan, take Uruli-Belsar Road and reach Shindawane village.
