Anantapur on the SBC-KCG mainline is the nearest railhead to Pennahobilam, in Anantapuram District of AP a well known Piligrim Center and sightseeing place. After alighting at the railway station, walk to the Arts College Bus stop and take any bus going to Uravakonda or Bellary. It falls 40 kms from the railway station. Next nearest railhead is GTL-Guntakal on the CSTM-MAS main line at 45 kms by road via Uravakonda.

means = Big Ahobilam. It is very much similar to the Ahobilam temple of Kurnool District. Here the main deity is Ugra Narasimha with Adi lakshmi & Chenchu Lakshmi as his wives. Its located on the banks of River Pennar and is close to a waterfall on the river pennar which also has a balancing reservoir (PABR Dam) built across. This along with Penakacherla dam (MPR Dam) are very famous day outing & picnic spots for locals. Penakacherla dam is about 23 kms from here for which the nearest rail head would be Garladinne GDE.
