I have a Tatkal ticket whose current status is WL/3 for a train tomorrow evening. Now, if the ticket moves to CNF status by today evening and I cancel it then, will I get a refund or not?

Oh no, Tejas, I won't! I will rather cancel today's general quota ticket if the Tatkal for tomorrow confirms....although, I prefer travelling today...Today's might come to RAC, it is also WL now!
If its still in WL you will get refund. If it has moved to confirmed status, no refund. Just before cancellation you can check the current status of your PNR and proceed.
Today's train is rather difficult mate. Cant find the CK PNR in the PNR forum but CKWL 3 has far better chances than GNWL 16 for today's departure.
I have not posted the CK PNR...I don't want to flood the Forum with unnecessary PNRs which might be cancelled!
