Seats of DD are not that much comfortable...
Very less space to sit and in three seats, the middle passenger doesn't feel comforatble the most...
Seats of CC are only good in Shatabdi's...

their is a big reason behind it...the concept was introduced to increase seating capacity and to provide journey in the busiest routes...but the reason by which it is failed is its type...seats should have been good...
Passengers as before taking WL's and managed to travel, after intro of DD somewhat adjusted but now they again are taking WL's in older trains...thus DD fails...
Seats should be same as Shatabi's have to increase its priority...

that is the reason one train on PUNE CSTM root having double decks was abandoned. But now AC is attraction for 'comfort seeking' people. and IR makes money with 'Large Hauling of Public'

DD was a good but poorly executed project. Ideally it should have been designed to replace the ordinary Shatabdi coaches on high density routes like Mumbai - Ahmadabad, Delhi - Amritsar/Kalka/Chandigarh/Lucknow.
The concept should have been to simply double the carriage capacity without a problem instead of running it as a separate train.

The route is profitable. BCT-ADI Route is always in demand. But it doesn't makes any sense to run this DD behind Karnavati(Which remains the first choice for day time passengers). Though now the patronage of this DD is increased.

That is what i am saying. Running the DD behind Karnavati is a waste. Instead the coaches of the DD should be used on the high demand Ahmedabad Shatabdi & ofcourse if the Shatabdi runs on Sunday then it will be the most profitable train on the route.
I used to run up & Down from Surat for a couple of years & the Karnavati in the morning and Shatabdi in the evening were the most popular trains on the route. Since the DD does not run on Sunday, those coaches could be used on the Shatabdi timings & everyone would be happy.
