This place used to be a narrow gauge platform. Reminded me of my childhood days. Early morning Satpura Express or Evening train to Gondia.
Lovely days miss it.

Nagpur: A day after TOI reported the mess in operating Mumbai Duronto Express from Ajni station, and Central Railway did a U-turn on its stand, all passengers expressed apprehension whether the railways would stick to their stand and operate the train from home platform only in future.
TOI had found chaotic scenes at Ajni during Duronto’s departure time on Tuesday evening. The entire station was crowded with passengers, indicating it just does not have the capacity to operate more trains as yet.
The platform was jam-packed with passengers of Ajni-Pune Express and also

Duronto. Passengers stuck in traffic jams struggled to enter the station and reach platform number 3.
The worst sufferers were patients like Sarita Jain, of Ganeshpeth, who was travelling in B4 coach, and in the absence of a ramp or lift, was being shifted on a wheelchair via the Nagpur-end of the platform, crossing the tracks to reach the Wardha-end.
“If at all railway wants to operate trains from Ajni, it should be either from platform number 1, or they should first create basic amenities for passengers. There is also no proper shade on the platform,” said Ashish Jain, of Ganeshpeth.
Coolies were also taking a shortcut by crossing the tracks with luggage to reach platform number 3. “I was climbing up the stairs and in the melee suddenly the porter vanished with our luggage. Later, we spotted him crossing the tracks to reach the coach before we could reach the platform. He charged Rs400 for two baggages,” said Rutuja Ghongde.
Similar views were expressed by Tushar Gupta, a businessman from Mumbai, who was asked to shell out Rs600 for three baggages. “The coolies wanted to cross the track with luggage, which I refused. Crossing the tracks is not only illegal but also dangerous,” he added.
“Duronto was operated from Ajni for last 50 days. Imagine how gruelling it must have been passengers in the absence of a ramp or lift. I’m handicapped and my wife struggled to shift the luggage even as train had arrived on the platform,” said Krishna Kawle, a paralytic heading for Mumbai to meet his son.
“Ajni station cannot handle more trains as it becomes difficult when departure and arrival of trains is back to back. Even we are puzzled while handling the crowd. People park their vehicles in no-go zone and move inside the station. Most of our cases at station relate to parking issues,” said RPF personnel on duty at Ajni.
