Can we book ticket from mumbai to Karnataka/Telangana and alight at Pune? What happens when one tries to exit station at Pune, and after train has departed? Pax coming from Gujarat and changing train at Mumbai (so practically this is not an intrastate travel). Note that no buses from Mumbai to Pune and cabs are very costly.

Good news for the travelers of Jabalpur. The first Humsafar Express of Jabalpur Railway Division, West Central Railway which runs every Thursday between Jabalpur to Santragachi, started running with Sleeper Coaches. To give relief to the common passengers, the Railway Board has initially installed two sleeper coaches in this train. The seats of the sleeper coach fully booked in few minutes as soon as the coach installed, then AC coach seats are vacant. The situation is that between 16 and 30 January, 5 trips in up and down of the train to be done, in which there is RAC and waiting in the Sleeper, while in 3AC more than 700 seats are vacant.
The Humsafar Express, which runs between Jabalpur to
Santragachi, does not have a special but dynamic fare. That is, like flight, the fare increases as the seats increase. While the 3AC fare from Jabalpur to Santragachi is Rs 1425, due to the dynamic fare, it reaches Rs 4000. Due to this, passengers do not make reservation in AC coach of this train. However, to give relief to the passengers, the railways have decided to remove dynamic fare and install Sleeper Coaches in Humsafar Express Fleet.
Special step has been taken for the convenience and safety of passengers in Humsafar Express. There are CCTV cameras in every coach for security. Not only this, as soon as the chain is pulled in the train, the driver and guard get to know in which coach chain pulling has been done. Apart from this, LHB coaches are safe and reduce the loss of life and property in the accident by 90%. Every coach has modern and comfortable seats, bathrooms and beautiful coaches which makes Humsafar Express as India's Most Beautiful Train.
Railways have just installed 2 sleeper coaches in the Humsafar Express running between Jabalpur to Santragachi. In the second phase, two more sleeper coaches will be installed. Probably about 6 to 8 sleeper coaches can be installed in this train.

Not sure why does someone calculate demand based on how many berths vacant. Why dont they calculate on how many berths booked. Since 3AC coaches are more, the availability will be seen high. WL in SL does not necessarily mean that they are high in demand.

The First long-distance Sleeper Variant Twin Deck Coach is being designed at Railway Coach Factory, Kapurthala, Punjab. The twin-deck coach, to be manufactured at a cost of around 2.5 to 3 crores under Make in India initiative, will have capacity for 120 passengers same as the Double Decker Coach.
RCF is working on technology with a state of the art facility providing passengers capacity similar to double decker coach, which is likely to be completed in the financial year 2020-21. After meeting the safety and speed standards from RDSO, it will be included in the Indian Railways fleet.
Chair Car Double Decker coaches are running on various tracks in the Indian Railways Network, but all these coaches are able to give only day-service. It is not possible to sit for in long distance journey. The sleeper variant of these double decker coaches will be called twin deck coaches, in which one can travel by sleeping.
However, the design of this DAC is currently under progress, about which no technical features had been revealed by RCF management. Ravinder Gupta, General Manager of Rail Coach Factory said that most of the poor people travel in rail, whose percentage is very high. They mostly have to stand and travel. To overcome this problem, such coaches are being manufactured by RCF. So that the person traveling with family, does not have to fight for the seat.
He said that on behalf of the RCF manager, the people of the villages around the factory have started a contact campaign to find employment opportunities for them. So that they can get more and more employment opportunities in RCF. So that RCF can focus on working with creativity to manage and manufacture good coaches.

This should be only AC. In case of non-AC, the lower deck windows will align with the platforms of passing stations, thereby throwing a lot of dust inside.

The train is taking 6 hours to complete 96 kms journey. On what basis are they charging "Superfast Charge" for this train? Is this a technique just to bump up pricing for this train?

How much does it take to fix glasses on the roof? Already they are charging EC fare for the distance. That should be good enough to cover for the costs. Why this unethical way of putting superfast charge for the slowest train on route (slower than passenger)?

They could have instead added a new category "Superslow Charges" and charged the same amount. Its the cost to be paid by passengers for making the train go slow and spending more time in journey.

I dont have issues in paying money for premium service. Just that they need to classify charges into logical category.

its regular run from 19 January, Train No. 82902 Ahmedabad -Mumbai Central Tejas Express will leave Ahmedabad at 06:40 hrs and will reach Mumbai Central at 13:10 hrs.
In return direction train No. 82901 Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Tejas Express (Except Thursday) will depart Mumbai Central at 15:40 hrs and will arrive Ahmedabad at 21:55 hrs .
The Tejas Express will halt at Nadiad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi and Borivali stations on both directions.
According to a statement issued by the Western Railways zone of Indian Railways, Tejas Express will offer world- class comfort and facilities to passengers.
The fully air-conditioned Tejas has several modern features such as sliding doors, personalized reading lights, mobile charging points, attendant call buttons, bio-toilets, automatic entry and exit doors, CCTV cameras, reclining facility, comfortable seats, etc.
This train will have Chair car and Executive Chair car .The Mumbai Central-Ahmedabad Tejas Express — also to be run by the IRCTC after the Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express, the railways' first train to be run by its subsidiary IRCTC.
Bringing in private train operators to provide world-class passenger service was a proposal mooted by the railways in its 100-day plan. Sources said handing over the two Tejas Express trains to IRCTC was a first step towards that.
IRCTC will have the rights for advertisements inside and outside the coaches, including branding of the trains. It can also make modifications inside the rake without affecting its structural safety.
IRCTC will be allowed to use the railways' web portal for ticketing for a year and the revenue accounts of these two trains would be maintained separately, the sources said. The Railway Board has instructed IRCTC to develop its own ticketing system simultaneously.
The trains will have 18 coaches each. However, IRCTC will be allowed to run the trains with a minimum of 12 coaches for a period of one year. The haulage charges would be calculated per trip, based on the number of coaches used on each trip or 12 coaches, whichever is higher.
IRCTC will also pay for the custody of trains, including spares.
