Why is there no stoppage at BYPL / KJM / WFD for Chennai bound passengers for this train? - particularly from East Bengaluru? Reaching BNC from areas in and around Marathahalli / K R Puram / Banaswadi / Whitefield etc will mean a de-tour for at least 30 mins to 1 hour or sometimes even more to BNC and again coming back to areas near one's residences to reach Chennai. If SWR / SR / IR along with the local authorities like BDA / BBMP can consider a stoppage at KJM or WFD, then this step will de-congest the already packed Bengaluru Roads. Hope people / NGOs / Rail Fans can put some pressure on the concerned authorities.

And now, how exactly are BBMP and BDA concerned with train halts?

Don't you know that the BBMP & BDA & the Railways meet to decide on what s right and wrong for the city of Bengaluru and its citizens? The sub-urban train system in Bengaluru too is decided between these parties. So stoppages on the fringes of the city could be too decided by them. IMPO.

Look at the FARE for FC for this train on IRCTC - Rs.1285/- for FC one way for a distance of 88 kms. This is unbelievable!! When the MTP-UAM train's fare for FC is just Rs.205/- for a distance of 46 kms and just Rs.30/- for 2S class. On what basis is the fare decided for Tr. No. 52541? This is beyond a common man's reach. Is or was there any official notification regarding the same earlier?

It is surprising that none of the viewers have answered or commented here. More surprising is the Rs.1285/- fare for First Class for this train. MTP-UAM & also KLK-SML - Hill/Toy Trains are much affordable. So, WHY on earth is the FC fare for this train 1285/- for a distance of 88/90 kms ONLY???

Common men don't take this train. Common men take buses and shared cabs. This is for tourists and just the right way to generate revenue. If we sum the resources spent in maintaining that toy train up, we'd realize that even 1200 per ticket isn't a profitable deal for them.
Also given that it's waitlisted throughout, people are actually ready to pay. There must've been something special about it.

"even 1200 per ticket isn't a profitable deal for them" - This is Surprising, but nonetheless, it could be True. But I guess a few months back, or at least a year back the FC charges were in hundreds like perhaps INR 400 -500. So, I was amazed by this STEEP hike in fares.

When at YPR, with a 60 mins to 120 mins or more of lay-over/transit time, do not think twice before heading to this restaurant/food court - SHIV BHOJ - PURE VEG - 1.2 kms away from YPR station by walk and 1.5 kms by Metro Rail - YPR to YPR Industry Metro Rly Stn. Phone No. of SHIV BHOJ: 080 67303000. Towards Mumbai Side - or just ask for Taj Vivanta, Tumkur Road Side when outside the station. They serve the following cuisines - North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Fast Food. A lot of food is available to choose from. THEY MAY ALSO DELIVER AT YPR STN - JUST ASK FOR IT. (Perhaps they could deliver outside the station, if not on your seat). Food items like Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Chole Bature, Pohe / Poha, Jelebi Rabdi, Aloo Chilli, North Indian (Patiala) Thali is available. (Its good and I have...
tried it myself). Good option to spend sometime there, as a transit-over pass time. See pics and this link click here for more details.

Shivbhoj - Pure Veg also has a multi-cuisine veg & non-veg cum BAR & restaurant (liquor served) on the First Floor - called UPPU MUNCHI - meaning SALT & CHILLI in Mangalorean local dialect TULU. (both, the Kitchens & cooks are different). Cheers! Get your spirits on the HIGH!!!

Dude, I am not spamming here. I have no reason to do so. Come over to YPR sometime and see outside the station, its all traffic and traffic and traffic. It is really hard to find a good, quite place to relax and eat. Therefore I posted this. Shivbhoj's owner is not my relative or a friend. But that resto is within reachable distance from YPR, provided one has ample time on hand. I have mentioned this earlier in the post.

YES. Agreed. Rs.10/- is meager. DO NOT PAY just to show off. IF you wish to TIP anyone, anywhere, Trains, bus, Restaurants, Hotels, TIP them handsomely. - Its simple - Do it with generosity or DO NOT do it at all. NO Questions asked. Cheers.

Hey, hey, hey, I am not promoting this TIPS culture, I have time and again said - DO NOT TIP at all. But if you choose to do so, then DO SO handsomely. And then, a BIG SHAME on this - "You cant believe how rudely these hooligans are behaving with a solo lady and when we all united and started revolting they just left the scene". - This is exactly where YOU kind of guys are doing nothing. Absolutely NOTHING on trains. Someone, talking rudely with a LADY co-passenger, and you LEFT this so called hooligan scot-free? SHAME ON YOU and your co passengers. YOU must have caught these guys who misbehaved with a lady and handed over them to the RPF. You are making a mess of TIPS on trains, when you could not complain about someone (or more) misbehaving with a LADY passenger. This is the problem in...
INDIA. People like you DO NOT act where and when necessary. But people like you keep ranting the same lines time and again. Shame on you that you let those so called hooligans were let off because you were more worried about the TIPs than that of the safety of a LADY co-passenger.

I do pity on you on certain things..first of all you don't konow how to join in a debate in an open forum..maybe that's the reason why you chose to call me "hey, hey, hey".I believe in giving respect to each and every person and hereby I said that some people tip others so that they can take undue rights from them or rather can ask them to bear their tantrums (I even saw people giving their stale tiffin box to wash and then tip them for 50/-) .. Secondly you are bounded by some social boundaries and I had my belief that I can think above these social statas like Gender,Class etc that's why I protested against the entire passengers of the compartment rather than solving the plight of a single lady..(though the lady was also strong enough to shield her own defense)..FYI we had lodged a complain in Hwh Grp...
on tip of RPF and they asked us to give witness when they will take action in nabbing those...
Thirdly and most importantly try to think beyond certain boxes like Buying people by tipping handsomely..You live in Democratic country where an elected government collect taxes on behalf of you to pay that persons salary...Complaining is not taking his job away but to give or ratger teach him a lesson that Don't force someone for your benefit..Grow up and do some rational thinking because oneday when you give him a 500 note and he will say "sir diwali is near..itne se kya hota"

This ain't the US where tips are a mandatory part. Tipping is 'actively discouraged' by IR, then why do it. Infact, I applaud the OP for complaining to the DRM since they're already paid for doing their jobs[they are paid sufficient in the first place unlike the US whose custom you are trying to copy]. Tipping is an extremely im-perfect system and it had be good if it doesn't increase.

The problem is that many vendors, waiters, janitors & other train staff 'demand' tips as per their rates as if it's some kind of entitlements that they have right to. The fact is that tips are a Colonial Raj Era Hangover that isn't going from the psyche of people doing physical work in eatery joints, restaurants and Indian Trains (esp Prestigious trains). Just as Kolkata restaurants in Park Street and other Central locations need to shed their Raj Era arrogance, similarly many IR train staff people also need to shed off these Raj era habits.

Tips or "Baksish" in Hindi is something that is supposed to be given voluntarily to staffers so the giving person should decide the rates rather than the recipient 'demanding' the amount. Once a beggar gave me back a Rs. 2 Coin in my hand since he refused it. It's not his fault since many foreigners in New Market and other Central Kolkata locations have spoiled beggars by giving them alms of above Rs. 100/- ... :(

A steady stream of food stuff from the local vendors will ensure that you will not go hungry. In the morning time, in between Yerraguntla and Guntakal, we could get Coffee, Masala Tea, Water, Sweet Lassi, Buttermilk, Chitrannna(Tamarind rice), Bhelpuri, Mosambi, Samosa, Sweet Bread, Boiled Groundnuts, Bananas et al. Gooty station has a number of vendors selling items for lunch. Overall a train with good catering from local vendors
