of DLS Pune (CR); CRANKING / STARTING-UP after a small trouble shooting at Azara, near Guwahati, Assam, India.
WDG4D (a variant of the EMD GT46ACe family) is the dual cab version of WDG4 (4500hp, IGBT based); which is actually the up-rated version of WDG4 (4000 hp, GTO Thyristor based), also known as EMD GT46MAC.
All of these EMD locomotives have a same prime mover, the 16-710G3B (V-16 cylinders); from the EMD 710 series family, which are two stroke medium speed turbo charged engines.
