Sabarmati river, cruises past the busting city, and finally slows down to make an on-time arrival at Ahmedabad Junction. First, we meet the single line track coming from HImmatnagar Junction. The route has just undergone gauge conversion with CRS Trials still being underway. In fact, you can still find glimpses of abandones metre gauge line coming from Udaipur City and Mahesana Junction in the distance. Moments later, we meet a BRC WAP- 7 and ABR WDP- 4D combo idling away. Later the same EMD took charge of the 12548 Ahmedabad (ADI)- Agra Cantt (AGC) Superfast (Which we boarded). Also we meet 4 more trains in the platform premises, namely:
1) A WDG- 4 hauled CONCOR rake.
2) VTA WDG-3A departing with the 8 hours late running 22923 Bandra Terminus (BDTS)- Jamnagar (JAM) HUMSAFAR Express.
3) BRC WAP- 5 "AMUL" hauled 59550 Ahmedabad (ADI)- Vadodara (BRC) SANKALP FAST PASSENGER.
4) The idle rake of 22953 Mumbai Central (MMCT)- Ahmedabad (ADI) GUJARAT Superfast, which had arrived earlier. The same rake would later depart as 19034 Ahmedabad (ADI)- Valsad (BL) GUJARAT QUEEN Express.
The INTERCITY follows the Ajmer- Marwar- Abu Road- Palanpur- Mahesana- Sabarmati- Ahmedabad route.
