This is the cancellation procedure for RAC ticket after chart preparation. In the last they have mentioned as "refunds as sanctioned by the Railway administration would be credited back to the user's account." So will it be same like normal window ticket?
RULE:-
If the user wishes to cancel his e-Ticket, he can do so till the time of chart preparation for the train (which is normally 4 hours before the scheduled departure of the train from the train starting station) through the Internet. No cancellation of e-ticket
...

is permitted on-line after the chart preparation. For any claims on e-tickets to be cancelled after the preparation of Reservation charts, the user has to send an email at the earliest possible time to etickets@irctc.co.in giving full details of the ticket and stating the claim, which would then be processed by IRCTC with the Railway administration offline and refunds as sanctioned by the Railway administration would be credited back to the user's account.

I think if 60283-6 is correct then there is a lot of difference in cancellation for an RAC ticket after chart preparation, which is booked online and the one with window booking.
I think they may deduct 50% in this situation. In TDR procedure it's normally 50% cancellation charges what they mention for confirmed tickets .. fr RAC they didn't mention anything...
Thanks to u all...

I hope this answers your question:
indianrail.gov.in/refunds:

(i)

Three hours, when the ticket is for a destination station up to 200 KM.

(iii) Twelve hours , when the ticket is for a destination station of more than 500 KM.,
after the actual departure of the train except for a deduction of a clerkage charge of Rs. 20/- per passenger.
Provided that for night train leaving between 21:00 hours and 06:00 hours (actual departures), refunds shall be admissible at the station within the time limit specified above or within four hours of opening of the reservation office, whichever is later.
(2A) Where confirmed reservation has been provided to RAC or wait-listed ticket holder at any time up to the final preparation of reservation chart, such ticket shall be treated as a reserved ticket and cancellation charges shall be payable in accordance with rules mentioned above.
Does this help?
good wishes.

Dear all,
Whereever it is mentioned 50% deduction, fully wrong that is. In no case an E-ticket remaining under RAC on charting may attract 50% deduction. It is only and only Rs. 20 per passenger, irrespective of class excepting second class, where it could be (sorry for not being sure about it) Rs. 10 only.
