Aug 01 2011 (10:42) Blog Post# 213279-0 Guest: 2d1cd4db Added by: KishorWhoAJE2here~ Aug 01 2011 (13:41) can any one tell rashan card is applicable for age proof in railway or not Since Ration Cards are without photo, these have not been considered for Age/name proof. who said ration card are without photos. Each and every ration card have photos in india. No sir. My own ration card as well as those of my family members in Kolkata are without photographs and not accepted by banks, for instance, as ID proof or address proof for the purpose of opening bank accounts. Sir, excepting my own Ration Card, all may be having Photos. I confirm once again for clarity that at least my Ration Card (Indian) does not contain photographs. But Mr.PKV sir here in north the ration cards have full family photos and are accepted as major proof of age for all family members. You are right. I think the system has now been changed and ration cards are now being issued with photographs. But that is not applicable in West Bengal. Ration cards are with photo only, some times it might hv missed otherwise it is purely computerised and photo is very well printed .it is an laminated cards with photos issued by the concerned authorities. ... other thing whih rly can accept now is adhar cards which under process in whole india as ssn (social seurity number) Sir, in the entire state of West Bengal there are no ration cards bearing the photograph of the card holder. sir ok, ,they thought not required as no cheating in wb with ration cards No sir. That is the age-old system here which has not undergone any change at all. Otherwise or maybe because of that the number of bogus ration cards in WB is probably the highest for any state in India becoz of a large number of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants especially in the border districts and Kolkata. One of the reason for non-acceptance of Ration Card as ID Proof may be family photograph on the ration card and not the individual photograph. As Rihand sir told, Ration card accepted in some parts of country. I have seen in some AP trains. But as it has some issues in other states...better to avoid for long distance trains. Sir, Yes: (1) All the R Cs in India do not have Photos. (2) What do have, have as a family photo (I do not know the proportion) mostly. And hence, these have not yet been prescribed as an acceptable ID by the IR which is maintaining the rules for the Nation as a whole. |
