The Electrification of Howrah - Amritsar Back Line(Via BSB-SLN-SRE) Route has progressed as follows :-
--------------------------------------
Howrah - Mughalsarai (via Gaya) by 1976
Ambala Cantt - Saharanpur by 2001
Howrah - Mughalsarai (via Patna) by
...
2003
Saharanpur - Moradabad by 2011
Moradabad - Mughalsarai (Via Lucknow - Sultanpur - Varanasi) by 2013(Expected to be completed)
--------------------------------------------
Thus, by 2014 for sure; the Entire Howrah - Amritsar Route via Back Line(Gaya/Patna - Mughalsarai - Varanasi - Sultanpur - Saharanpur - Ambala) will get energized after it's Electrification Works will complete. Then locos like GZB WAP-5, HWH WAP-7 and MGS WAP-4 will haul trains like KOAA-ASR SF Punjab Express & SDAH-ASR Akal Takht Express on End-To-End Basis :-))
