u can buy any unreserved ticket from anywhere to anywhere, from anywhere across india in 3 day advance. i.e. from Salem to bangalore or salem to bangalore... from either bangalore or salem, upto 3 days in advance

Yes, you can buy today itself.
PS : Unreserved ticket(UT) can be taken 3 days in advance from the doj.

i dont think you can buy unreserved ticket of salem to banglore at banglore, i think. you may get reserved 2s ticket.
once i wanted to buy general ticket of VSKP-BZA at duvvada station but they denied.
similarly when i got to secunderabad, i generally take ticket in enrouted local station. they issue ticket from that local station, but not from secunderabad

Let's consider this : a person got UT(unreserved ticket) from A to B in advance(say 2days) and he wishes to purchase UT from B to A from the very same Unreserved Ticket Counter. Now the question is, Is this possible ?
According to me, it's possible.

i am saying thay the unreserved tickets from A are always issued in A and from B(to A also) are always issued at B. for journeys starting from B you cannot buy unreserved ticket anywhere except B.you can get reserved tickets anywhere.

this is not ryt. i hv bought once. bangalore to katpadi n vice versa, from bangalore only. dt happens dis reservation clerk wont give u the return ticket, for wt reason i dont know.

Many booking clerks themselves arent well aware of the booking facilities-same thing happened at Jayanagar once when I wnet for UR booking from bangalore to chennai by 2610 Express-he said he wasnt sure and then he checked the same and gave the ticket
