This is a purely subjective assessment of each. One of the advantages of the train is that you can get out of your seat and walk around... which you can do on the Volvo of course, but subject to the roll of the buses. Another is that you can use a toilet instead of having to ask the Bus Driver to stop somewhere...
Another is that you get food on board when you want, not when the driver wants !
The leg space availability is simply a matter of subjective assessment of each
...
passenger ! repeated again deliberately.
good wishes.
PS: Although I am a rail fan, I too travel long distance by buses and my own car !

thanks...am apprehensive that the leg space might be like what you get in the economy class of domestic flights. this is worse than in the volvo buses.

People pay much more and do not complaint about any leg space while flying, whether he is 6footer or less or more, but they ask so many questiions about leg space while paying very much less in the railways.
agreed air travel (main) takes less time, but the comfort factor is very less. extra 3-5 hours are taken for going and coming to the airport which are not at all calculated (including reporting time).
why dont they ask these questions to the airline? nobody complaints in air travel, whether its international

or national.
a man compromises his comfort by paying more in airlines and feels bad while doing the same thing while going by train.

over all i like this train service. It is fairly punctual and food service is also good. out of pune it has about 80% occupancy and out of HYb its sloghtly lesser. Weekends the occupancy further enhances. I hope IR finds it worthwhile to continue the service through the year, may be as a weekend train plying only on friday saturday and sunday.

Thanks. Experiment is the best way to judge whether it suits or not to you ! Travel one way and check it out. In 2 CC it is 3 x 3 seating, and in EC it is 2 x 2. EC is much better, and certainly has more leg space than 3 x 3. Perhaps you could compare the Volvo prices and check out the EC prices. If they are same or similar then try the Shatabdi ! It's upto you.
good wishes.

Generaly CC fares itself are more than volvo of KSRTC itself in the Bangalore-Mysore sector. However you get food and other drinks whereas you get only mineral water in bus. and you can relax only when the driver stops the bus. Train is comfortable in many aspects and is faster than bus so cost musnt matter
