On Saturday night, an RPF team at Patna Junction apprehended a man named Bajrang Thakur carrying a trolley bag containing 50 lakh rupees. Upon questioning, Bajrang revealed that he was given the bag by an individual in Ranchi, who instructed him to deliver it in Patna. The individual who gave him the bag also provided him with two locked mobile phones. The recovered cash was seized by the Income Tax Department. Later, it was discovered that Bajrang was a wanted criminal in Ranchi and a member of a larger gang involved in extortion. The Ranchi ATS arrived in Patna to investigate the case, took Bajrang into custody, and confirmed that the money was extorted funds being transported from Ranchi to Patna.
