This measure is being seen by real estate experts as a way to ensure the safe redevelopment of many old buildings along the corridor, which spans densely populated areas of Mumbai. The 12.69 km Phase 1 section of Metro 3, connecting Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey, known as the Aqua Line, opened to the public on October 7, 2024. Once Phase II becomes operational, the corridor will link southern, central, and western Mumbai, making it the fourth operational metro corridor in the city.

Metro 3 ka 12.69 km Phase 1 section, jo Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) ko Aarey se jodta hai, Aqua Line ke naam se jaana jaata hai, 7 October, 2024 ko public ke liye khul gaya. Phase II start hone ke baad, corridor southern, central, aur western Mumbai ko jod dega, aur ye city ka chautha operational metro corridor ban jaayega.
