To improve the ambience and the aesthetics, synthetic wallpapers have been used to give it a modern and swanky look. The seating capacity has been enhanced and can now accommodate around 80 visitors in the corridor as well as in reception area. Shri Thakur stated that all the OPDs have been provided with customised elevated storage, sitting arrangement and patient examination beds as per the requirement of OPD's health staff. The washroom area (both ladies/gents) has also been given a facelift and has been provided with concealed and PPR non-corrosive piping. Shri Thakur informed that another notable accomplishment on this occasion was the launching of the online OPD appointment module. This will enable the patients wanting to visit JRH to take online appointment of the doctor and can book their slots 15 days in advance and patients can get the status of slot availability well in advance. This will greatly reduce the waiting period at JRH OPD and will help to avoid excess crowding thereby fulfilling the purpose of social distancing. Provision has also been made so that patients can approach JRH in case of an emergency. Addressing during the event, WR GM Shri Alok Kansal appreciated the commendable performance by the team of Corona Warriors of Jagjivan Ram Hospital during the last 6 months. This event was virtually attended by Principal Chief Medical Director, Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central Division, Principal Heads of the Departments, Doctors and senior officers of Western Railway. Shri Thakur stated that taking into consideration of the demands of Railway Beneficiaries, the Jagjivan Ram Hospital has now reviewed the status and has started offering services for the regular Railway Beneficiaries (Non-COVID) too. Since Jagjivan Ram Hospital is now dealing with both COVID and Non-COVID patients, the hospital has been segregated accordingly. The top two floors are COVID area and the next two floors are Non-COVID areas. First floor has ICUs and OTs for both types of patients. Adequate physical barriers and bilingual signages have been placed to ensure separation of both types of patients and the movements accordingly. Separate lifts have also been designated for both kinds of patients. Protocols for management of both types of patients have been developed in consultation with medical officers and staff of Jagjivan Ram Hospital. The training of the Medical Officers, Staff and contract staff has been undertaken. To ensure the safety of all, the movement of the visitors and attendants in the hospital is controlled by issuing passes and adequate security arrangements and monitoring are in place to ensure the compliance to protocols.

Panvel-Vashi on Up and Dn harbour lines from 11.05 am to 4.05 pm Up Harbour line services towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai leaving Panvel/Belapur from 10.33 am to 4.01 pm will remain cancelled. Dn Harbour line services to Belapur/Panvel leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai from 9.44 am to 3.16 pm will remain cancelled. Up Trans-Harbour line service towards Thane leaving Panvel at 2.24 pm and Dn Trans-Harbour line service to Panvel leaving Thane at 1.24 pm will remain cancelled. However, special trains will run on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Vashi section during the block period.
Thane-Vashi Transharbour line services will be available during the block period. These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused.
Western Railway has always come up with great initiative to support the "nari shakti". Right from introducing the dedicated 'Ladies' Special' train in the world or setting up Baby Feeding Centers at stations to providing CCTV cameras & talk-back system inside ladies’ coaches, women passengers have always been a priority for the Railways. Relations Officer of Western Railway, the objective of the "Meri Saheli" initiative is to provide safety and security of lady passengers travelling by trains in their entire journey from originating station till destination station. Under the initiative, a team of lady officer and staff have been formed. The team will visit all of the passenger coaches including ladies coaches to identify women passengers. Details of their journey like, coach number & seat number will be noted down by the team, especially if a lady is travelling alone in the train. The passengers will be briefed about RPF Security Helpline No. 182, GRP Security Helpline No. 1512 and other precautions for example, not to take food with strangers, buying food from IRCTC authorized stalls only, taking care of luggage. The team will also advise them to feel free to contact the train escort party and dial 182 in case of any emergency. The details of the passengers will be conveyed to enroute Divisions & Zones to meet the passengers at their convenience till they reach their final destination. At the end of the journey, a feedback will be collected from the passenger regarding their journey experience and safety measures taken.
Shri Thakur stated that this unique initiative has introduced in two trains, i.e, Train No. 12955 Mumbai Central - Jaipur Superfast Express and Train No. 02925 Bandra Terminus - Amritsar Special train.
