Train Tag: Tippu SF Express/12613 added by 16229🔹MYS🔄BSB Express🔹16230^~/36147
Travelling by Bengaluru-bound Tipu Express from Mysuru has become a nightmare for hundreds of commuters all because of the failure of the train to adhere to the timings. As a result, many people have been missing the train for the onward journey to Chennai and other places after arriving here from Mysuru.
Tipu Express usually departs from Mysuru at 11:30 am and reaches Kengeri at around 1:15 pm. But to cover the 12 km distance from Kengeri to Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Station (KSR Station in Majestic), the train takes at least an hour! In fact, the superfast express train covers the 40 km distance from Mandya within 35 minutes but takes at least one hour to reach the KSR station in Bengaluru.
...

Sources said a clash of timings with the Mysuru-bound Malgudi Express is the reason why Tipu Express gets inevitably delayed. Malgudi Express reaches KSR  station at 1:40 pm and departs at 1:50 pm. However, this  train always arrives late at KSR Station from Yesvanthpur Station after the routine cleaning and leaves Majestic at 2:05 pm or 2:10 pm. Since the Tipu Express has to arrive on Platform No 8, it cannot proceed from Kengeri or Nayandahalli stations until Platform No. 8 is vacant.
Mr Suresh, a Tipu Express regular, told Deccan Chronicle that people travel in the superfast train by paying Rs 75 (express train fare Rs 60) but still the train  arrives at KSR Station 45-50 minutes behind schedule. He wanted to know why people should pay superfast fares when the train runs like a passenger train between Kengeri and KSR station. Raghavendra Rao, another traveller suggests a solution-the Chamarajanagar passenger train which arrives on Platform No 9 in the morning, departs only at 3:25 pm and instead of stationing it on the platform for six hours, Tipu Express can be accommodated on Platform No 9.
Similarly, the Bengaluru-Kochuveli Express is also stationed on Platform No. 6 for long hours and that train too can be moved to the pit line to allow Tipu to arrive in Bengaluru, he says.
On Thursday, Tipu reached Kengeri at 1:15 pm and left at 1:45 pm. It was again stopped at Nayandahalli from 1:45 pm to 2:20 pm and then stopped on the outer track for 25 minutes. The train reached KSR Station at 2:45 pm,  a delay by 55 minutes.
The divisional railway manager of Bengaluru division said all platforms at KSR station are full. “We are open to suggestions to improve punctuality. We will also consider the suggestions to allow Tipu SF train on Platform No 9 or 6. However, rescheduling of departure timing from Mysuru at 12 noon instead of 11.30 am is left to the Mysore division of South Western Railway,” he added.

Only solution it to remove the pitlines and shift it to binny mill land if this happens then around extra 4-5 pfs can be constructed on sbc otherwise there is no space to lay even a single track and if this not happens then pf 8 to 10 must be linked to bnc side and pf 1 to 7 must be linked to ypr side and pf 1 to 4 must be connected to kgi side

The extension of 16023 malgudi express till yelhanka is the reason behind this. To decongest at Yesvantpur, this step has been taken. Solution for all this problem is, malgudi express should get cancel from YNK to YPR and it should get the older time table. Leaving ypr at 1.15, reaching sbc at 1.25 n departing sbc at 1.30 or 1.35. Siddhaganga express should leave at 1 from pf-9, then this malgudi can get in to pf-9 at 1.25, and further tippu express 12613 can enter pf-9 by 1.45 or 1.50. Else malgudi express should be diverted by cantonment. Anyhow, proper maintenance can solve all the problems. Care should be taken.

With the railways planning to electrify its entire broad-gauge network by 2022, the first electric loco shed in Karnataka and South Western Railway (SWR) is likely to be commissioned by next year.
“Work on the conversion of diesel loco shed at Krishnarajapuram (KR Puram) to an electric loco shed is expected to be completed by August 2020,” said SWR chief public relation officer E Vijaya.
The railway board on Friday decided to transfer five electric locomotives from Royapuram shed to KR Puram.

the full-fledged facility is likely to come up by August 2020, maintenance of these five electric locomotives will be done with skeletal facilities. “There are only two diesel loco sheds in SWR, which is in Bengaluru and Hubballi. Once the electrical locos come, the KR Puram shed will be the first to maintain electric locos in Karnataka,” Vijaya added.

With 4,791 more stations to cover in less than 100 days, RailTel is on a mission to complete the work of providing Wifi at the railway stations across the Indian Railways network, according to the managing director of the public sector undertaking who added that he was hopeful of meeting the “ambitious” deadline.
In two-and-a-half years, RailTel has covered 1,606 stations, including Mumbai, Howroh, Patna, Shimla, Ranchi, Surat and New Delhi.
RailTel is implementing two of the six Indian Railways projects that are part of 100-day agenda of the Union government. The project
...

other than providing WiFi networks, is to test a new signalling technology that will improve safety and increase capacity by reducing the distance between two trains.
“We are working along with Railways and Tata Trust [on the WiFi project], and equipment installation has started. Of course, it is an ambitious target [October 15] but our teams are working day and night,” Puneet Chawla told Hindustan Times.
According to data from RailTel, the total WiFi user logins across 1,606 stations in May was 235 million. The total unique users were 119 million, and a total of 8,781.30 TB data consumed that month.
The data showed that stations in Tier 1 cities such as Kolkata, New Delhi and Mumbai registered a greater number of user logins and data consumption than their Tier 2 counterparts such as Gaya, Solan and Jodhpur. Howrah station alone saw 49 million user logins in one month - the highest in the country.
“Internet in India is largely mobile Internet with a high percentage of users on 2G and 3G, while RailTel sought to bridge the digital divide by providing free and fast Wi-Fi, which also bridges the experience divide where millions of users experience fast access to the Internet for the first time,” Chawla said.
The other project that RailTel is implementing for Indian Railways is modernisation of the signalling system on four sections. The system overhaul includes Automatic Train Protection System with a Long Term Evolution (LTE)-based Mobile Train Radio Communication System (MTRC). These will gave the provision of Electronic Interlocking (indoor) wherever required. This will help railway to depart train immediately after another unlike the current practice where the next train is always kept a station away from another. The signaling will help train drivers to communicate while train protection system will help in preventing the accident.
“The selected company will have to start the trial within eight months after getting the tender and they need to complete the trail run within 24 months of getting it. The cost of trial run would be around R1,600 crore, which includes training for drivers, and an upgradation of 500 locos that have been identified for installation of extra equipment,” Chawla said.
This Modern Train control system project will be implemented on 165 RKMs (route kilometres) in the Renigunta (RU) – Yerraguntla (YA) section of the South Central Railway, 145 RKMs in the Vizianagaram (VZM)-Palasa (PSA) section of the East Coast Railway, 155 RKMs on the Jhansi (JHS) -Bina (BINA) section of the North Central Railway, and 175 RKMs on Nagpur (NGP)-Badnera (BD) section of the Central Railway.
These are some of the busiest routes on Indian Railway with heavy traffic. Automatic Train Protection System and LTE based MRTC will improve safety, help reduce congestion in these rail networks and increase line capacity, improve punctuality. It will also help to increase average speed of trains.
