22-05-2019 South Central Railway in association with Integral Coach Factory (ICF) organized a Meet for indigenization and vendor development in which around 250 manufacturing and start-up firms participated. The meet was held today i.e., 21st May, 2019 at Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad. During the last 10 years, there has been more than 100% increase in purchases made by Indian Railways and also increase in the network which has resulted in almost three-fold increase in procurement of Rolling Stock, he added. There is an annual procurement of material worth more than Rs.50,000 crs which includes approximately 1,13,000 items, stocked by Indian Railways. These items are procured through on-line using Indian Railways e-Procurement System (IREPS) and GeM Portal (Government e-Market Place). Payments are also being made through iPAS on-line payment system. Shri V. R. Mishra, Principal Chief Materials Manager, SCR welcomed the gathering and said that the main objective of organizing the meet is to develop more indigenous sources, help its participants understand the supply chain of the Railway, to disseminate the relevant information, E-procurement, vendor approval process and rules and issues pertaining to vendor development. More than 100 items were displayed in stalls put up. The purchase process in railways is now totally online and transparent, he added. The process of purchase through GeM, inspection procedure of materials, vendor registration, benefits to MSME etc were discussed in the meet. Train No. 07432 Tirupati - Kakinada Town Special Train will depart Tirupati at 19:30 hrs on 24th and 26th May, 2019 and arrive Kakinada Town at 06.50 hrs on the next day. In the return direction, Train No. 07431 Kakinada Town - Tirupati Special Train will depart Kakinada Town at 21.45 hrs on 25thand 27th May, 2019 and arrive Tirupati at 08:45 hrs on next day. Enroute these Special Trains will stop at Renigunta, Gudur, Nellore, ongole, Tenali, Vijayawada, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Rajahmundry, Dwarapudi and Samalkot, Stations in both the directions. These special trains consist of Sixteen Sleeper Class and Two Luggage Cum Brake Van Coaches.
