Can somebody explain me how railways number the WL. When i booked MAS-NZM on GB for 11/5/13, it was GNWL/334/WL/180 and now i see that new bookings at GNWL361/WL188 though my current status is GNWL334/WL172?
Your ticket was at WL180 when you booked and not its moved to WL172
WL334 is the serial number of your WL and 172 is the current status of the WL of your ticket. Hope it's clear now.

My indirect query was the difference between then and present WL status.
When I booked the difference was 154 (334 - 180 =154) but the current booking difference is 173(361-188) but my WL reduced from 180 to172 by just eight people cancelling. If you see the difference between 361-334=27 people had cancelled and my ticket didn't reduce to WL180-27 to WL153.
