|| SLEEPING BEASTS ||Having alighted 12665 Howrah - Kanniyakumari SF Express, that had arrived way ahead of schedule, we were waiting to board the next local towards Perambur. That was when I spotted these high horsepower beasts sleeping in their home shed. In the fore were WAP-7 30366 and a veteran; Erode (ED) WAP-1 22022. A few other WAP-7s can be seen as well.Royapuram, Chennai, TN02.05.2022

Mighty offlink Valsad(BL) WAP4 with Chengalpattu Kakinada Circar express taking sharp curve and skipping slowly South India's oldest railway station, Royapuram. (Opened on 28 June 1856, short before the Great Indian Mutiny of 1857). Currently runs with end to end electric loco as BZA NDD section was completely electrified. Coaches were too properly maintained although runs with old ICF rakes.
