পুরানো সেই দিনের কথা: বর্ধমান জেলার ভাতার স্টেশনে দাঁড়িয়ে রয়েছে ম্যাকলিওডস লাইট রেল কোম্পানির, বর্ধমান থেকে কাটোয়া গামী লাইট ট্রেন। ছবিটি ১৯৮০ এর দশকের প্রথম দিকের।ম্যাকলিওডস লাইট রেল কোম্পানির বর্ধমান থেকে কাটোয়া গামী, ৫৩ কিমি (৩৩ মাইল দীর্ঘ), ২ ফুট ৬ ইঞ্চি (৭৬২ মিমি) ন্যারো গজ লাইনের লাইট ট্রেন সার্ভিস শুরু হয় ১লা ডিসেম্বর ১৯১৫ সালে। ৫৩ কিমি দীর্ঘ এই যাত্রাপথ অতিক্রম করতে লাইট ট্রেনের সময় লাগতো প্রায় ২ ঘন্টা ৪৫ মিনিট। ট্রেনের সর্বোচ্চ গতি ছিল ঘন্টায় ৩০ কিমি। ১৯৬৬ সালে এই রুটের মালিকানা পরিবর্তিত হয়ে ভারতীয় রেলের পূর্ব রেল শাখার হাতে যায় এবং এই ন্যারো গজ রুটে লাইট ট্রেন পরিষেবা...
