The Indian Railways is planning to start a roll-on-roll-off (Ro-Ro) service between Kolad and Boisar. The first test run was successfully conducted between the two stations yesterday. IR need to adopt RORO in a big way not just to decongest roads in major cities, but also as a source to earn more revenue, along with saving of money as well as time for truck operators, and also as a step towards environmental protection.
