Mumbai: The Government Railway Police (GRP) Tuesday afternoon arrested a real estate agent, Nitin Sonavane, for travelling ticketless and showing a fake police identity card when accosted by a ticket checker (TC).
The ticket checker, D.K. Yadav, intercepted Sonavane at Dadar railway station after he alighted from the Howrah Express that arrived from Kalyan.
Mr Yadav said, “I asked Sonavane twice and both the times he said he was a policeman and told me not to ask him for his ticket again. Upon asking him which department he belonged to, he replied GRP.

I asked him for his identity card but he started shouting at me. Finally, he showed me a card where some other name was written apart from Thane city police being mentioned. I stopped him and asked him to come to the TC office.”
“I took him to the TC office and went ahead to keep my bag when he started running. I saw that and although I was unwell, chased him. Having been a sportsperson, it was easy for me to catch him. I took him to GRP police and we found three different identity cards from his wallet — one GRP police, another Mumbai city and a third Thane rural police,” he said.
According to GRP sources, the accused allegedly admitted to having fabricated the fake police identity card via an app called “Fake ID Card”. Mr Yadav said that the railway authorities found at least 150 ticketless travellers who had furnished fake identity cards using the same app.
Police sources said, “Sonavane is a real estate agent and one of his family members is in the police department. He made these fake identity cards from mobile apps. We have registered a FIR against him.”

half a dozen MIDC's in Raigad etc, yet govt takes a dump routinely on us.
the road is horrible now, every monsoon it has craters worse than moon, yet we have no option.
nobody needs M/E halts, a couple of DEMU's and a fast passenger type serivce will also suffice if properly scheduled, but all of that at present are nothing more than pipe dream.

those are for Crew change, as that allows KR's crew to drive trains in their own territory
NGTN is too small, it has 3 Pf's but the place is nothing more than a sightly big village; the reliance petrochemical plant (formerly IPCL) is the only major thing there and as such can't drive any demand whatsoever.

MUMBAI: In an embarrassing breach of security, two expensive cellphones belonging to senior public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam were nicked from, literally, under the noses of his five security guards as they all slept on a train.
Nikam enjoys Z plus security since 2009 when he first represented the state in the 26/11 terror case. It means that when he travels by train, he is accompanied by his personal security guard armed with an AK-47, and railways provides four constables, two each at the entry exit of the coach he is travelling in.

had kept the phones under his pillow during an overnight journey. A theft case has been filed by Jalgaon railway police and the railway crime branch has started a parallel probe. According to the FIR, Nikam left for his hometown in Jalgaon as usual on Friday after attending to cases in Mumbai. He boarded the A1 AC three-tier coach of the Dadar-Amritsar Pathankot Express at Dadar at 11.45pm. He was awake till Kalyan Junction and then dozed off. When he awoke at 5am at Pochora, one hour before Jalgaon, he slipped his hand under his pillow and reached for his cellphones. He could find none.
He immediately called his personal security officer and a guard sleeping on the next berth. They tried calling his numbers, but the phones were switched off. The trio hunted for the phones in the compartment, but to no avail.
After getting off at Jalgaon, Nikam and his guards approached the railway police and lodged a complaint.
Nikam could not be reached for comment.
