New route will reduce distance between two cities by 128 km n 30 new stations to be developed
Indore : Detailed survey of Indore-Jabalpur new rail route via Kannod, which will reduce distance between the cities by 129 km, has been completed. Now the West-Central Railway is in process of sending the report to railway board.
The new rail route was proposed in railway budget 2016-17. After that West-Central Railway (WCR) started a detailed survey of the project. According to official sources, it took 13 month to complete the survey, which covered construction
* For Narmada, the distance saved shall be is 129 kms as it goes via UJN
* The concept of passenger cum Express like Narmada is not good today. Narmada is doing 1008 km journey in 24:10 hrs @ 42kmph. Today nobody like to do long journeys in slow trains.
* it runs as a passenger train between JBP-BSP (408km 10:40hrs @ 38kmph) and runs like a slow express on JBP-INDB (600km 13:10 hrs @ 46kmph). Even the JBP-INDB intercity does the 554km journey in just 10 hrs
Its not a passenger between Jabalpur and Bilaspur. This stops every station between Ujjain and Indore as well....
In a conference held in Shakti Bhavan, Jabalpur, Deadlines for Electrification were decided which is ongoing between Itarsi-Jabalpur and Jabalpur-Allahabad. The work was optimised to be completed at various sectional deadlines. Much hyped Itarsi-Jabalpur route is expected to be completed by July 2017 whereas MKP-MJG by 2016 Dec. Overall, the project was decided to conclude in March 2018 with STA-KTE being last section electrified.
Way back in about 1985, it was observed that there was only one fully electrified trunk route i.e HWH-Dhanbad-NDL in IRlys and all other electrified sections (mainly on Trunk Lines connecting 4 metros) were in small stretches of a few 100 kms. It was realized that the benefits of electrification were not being reaped by IRlys due to frequent changes of locomotive from electric to diesel and vice versa for long distance trains were leading to losses in following way:
(1) Operational problems like frequent change of crew and poorer productivity of loco pilot crew as well as poor productivity of electric locomotive to large extent and of diesel locomotive to some extent. A lot of manpower was being wasted in loco
Par frnds mujhe lagta hai railway ko kte jbp et ko pahle complete kar dena chaiye tha taki kte mai loco change karke train elocos k sath agey mumbai aur south k liye ja sakti thi par railway k planing alag hi hai
