If you're traveling from JU and wanna get some good food to-go, there's this dope joint called Janta Sweets about 300m away from the main PF#1 gate. Janta Sweets is a legit restaurant chain in Jodhpur, and you can grab a quick thali to-go. They got a small one (2 bomb parathas, rice, dal, veggies, and raita) for Rs 170, and a bigger one for 260 (same as before, but with an extra paratha, paneer dish, papad, and sweets). They pack it all fresh and clean, so you can chow down on the train straight from the thali. Way better than the nasty food at the station or outside.

Overall, here are some tips for you: 1. There are dormitories and retiring rooms available on the first floor. It's better to book them online on the RR tourism website instead of relying on offline bookings because there might not be many rooms or beds available. Make sure to check in at the UTS counter, there's a separate counter for the retiring rooms. 2. The dormitory is divided into room numbers. I stayed in room number 5 which had 5 beds. There's a shared bathroom with a working geyser and a western toilet. The condition of the washroom is average, not too good or bad. 3. You'll find plenty of food options at the station and outside as well. If you want to try famous kachoris, exit from platform 1 and walk on the right side of the main road. There's a famous restaurant called Janta. If you want more options, cross the road, follow the straight road, and take a left at Jalori Gate. There, you'll find more famous places for snacks and food. 4. Transportation is easily available in the city. It's not as big as a metro city, so getting around is easy. I used Rapido for all my travel because it's cheap and fast. Shared autos, city buses, cabs, and reserve autos are also available. 5. There are many tourist attractions in the city, but unfortunately, I didn't have enough time to visit them. Instead, I focused on trying out different food items. By the way, the city is no longer known as the blue city. It has a new nickname, Sun City. Even outside the station, you'll see hoardings saying "I ❤️ Sun City." Overall, my experience in Jodhpur for 12 hours was 4/5. I think the kachoris here are better than Jaipur, but Jaipur is a bigger and more developed city with more places to visit. It also has better transportation options within the city. However, if I had to choose one city to spend a few years of my life, I would choose Jodhpur over Jaipur because I don't like the crowded metro anymore. PS: Now I'm going to Bikaner to explore that city as well. Crazy, right? 😜

4. Transportation aasani se mil jayegi, yeh shahar metro city ki tarah bada nahi hai isliye yaha pe transportation asan hai..
Maine Rapido istemal kiya apni saari yatra ke liye, woh sasta aur tez hai.. lekin shared auto, city buses, cabs aur reserve auto bhi available hai..
5. Tourist ke liye bahut sare jagah hai, lekin mere kuch kaam ki wajah se mujhe itna time nahi mila ek jagah bhi ghoomne ka, isliye maine focus kiya 2-3 khane par, historical places aur sab pe nahi..
Lekin yeh shahar abhi blue nahi hai, logo ka rang badal raha hai aur blue city abhi hai kahawat ki baat hai, naya nickname hai Sun City.. station ke bahar bhi hoarding hai I ❤️ Sun City..

Jaipur ke comparison mein kachori yahan acchi hai par Jaipur bahut bada, viksit shahar hai, waha ghoomne ke bahut sare jagah hai sahi sequence mein.. shahar ki connectivity bhi local transportation ke through Jodhpur se acchi hai..
Lekin agar mujhe dono mein se ek shahar choose karna ho jahan kuch saal zindagi bitani ho toh main Jodhpur ko Jaipur ke badle chununga kyunki mujhe metro crowd pasand nahi hai anymore 😹..

Yo, if you wanna travel without any worry, make sure to pre-book those IRCTC Retiring Rooms/Dorms. They're located on the first platform, so keep that in mind. And yo, there's some bomb food nearby the station. If you check out the street that leads to the down road, you'll find plenty of places to eat and sleep. If you're looking for places to check out, don't forget to hit up Mehrangarh Fort (take a bus and then a share auto or your own booked auto), Jaswant Thada (right across from Mehrangarh), Umaid Bhawan and definitely make a trip to the ancient city of Mandore (you can take the bus there). For all you shopaholics and snack lovers, GHANTA GHAR is the way to go. It's real close to the station (within 5km).
