please wait...Translate to EnglishYo, here's the lowdown on my first trip to DDN and Mussoorie:
- Train options to DDN:
1) Nanda Devi Exp from Ndls to DDN
2) Shatabdi Exp from DDN to Ndls
Hit up Nanda Devi Exp from Ndls to DDN, it arrives around 6AM. You can spend the day exploring DDN and then head to Mussoorie in the evening. For the return journey, catch the Shatabdi Exp from DDN to Ndls on the same day.
Trust me, one day is more than enough to check out DDN.
The best time to visit, based on my experience, is from late December to mid-February.
Places to visit in DDN:
- Tapkeshwar temple
- Robber's cave
- Sahasradhara
- FRI DDN
- Dehradun ZOO
- Buddhist Monastery
Now, at Robber's cave, you gotta take it slow and steady inside the cave. There's water flowing and it turns into a waterfall as you go further. Make sure you wear shoes with good grip to walk inside the cave.
Sahasradhara is another waterfall where water is spread out with smaller streams. You'll see water trickling down through the leaves of trees. There's also a spot where you can find sulphur water which a lot of visitors try out.

.
(Ndls DDN) Nanda Devi Exp.
Aise hai ki wah 6 baje tak pahuchti hai. Aur DDN ke jagahon par jaane ke baad, shaam tak Mussoorie ja sakte hain.
(DDN _ Ndls) Shatabdi Exp.
Taki wahi din Ndls pahunch jaye.
.
DDN ghoomne ke liye ek din se zyada bahut hai.
.
Visit karne ka sabse accha time hai:
(Mere visit ke hisaab se, December ke end ke dinon se February ke madhya tak.)
.
DDN mein ghume jagahon ki list:
→ Tapkeshwar Mandir
→ Robber's cave
→ Sahasradhara
→ FRI DDN
→ Dehradun ZOO
→ Buddhist Monastery
.
→ Robber's cave mein,
aapko dheere-dheere cave ke andar chalna hoga, paani ke saath. Jab aap aage badhege toh paani ki level badhegi. Woh cave mein waterfall hai.
Dhyaan de ki aapke paas grip wala joota ho cave ke andar chalne ke liye.
.
→ Sahasradhara
Yahan firse ek waterfall hai, lekin yahan paani aur uske tributaries ke saath faila hua hai.
Har point par thoda ya kabhi kabhi paani beh raha hoga. Basically, paani patton se gir kar neeche aata hai.
Yahan ek jagah hai jahan aapko sulphur wala paani mil sakta hai. Jo ki bahut saare tourists ne liya hai.
