Places to visit in and around Aurangabad. 1. Bibi-ka-Maqbara-- A mausolem built for Aurangzeb's wife by her son.(12 km from Railway station) 2. Daulatabad Fort-- An archaeological site also known as Devagiri Fort, once a capital shifted by Mohd. Tughlaq.(30 km from station) 3. Ellora Caves-- a world heritage site consisting of caves and temples. It is around 38 km from Aurangabad and on the same route to Daulatabad. Hence can be covered in a single day alongwith Daulatabad. For Hindu pilgrims, Temple of Ghrishneshwara(one of the 12 jyotirlingas) is in the vicinity of Ellora caves. 4. Ajanta Caves-- Again a world heritage site consisting of cave paintings and stone carved idols. Near about 110km from aurangabad. I would advise to make a separate trip to it. Ajanta is also nearby Jalgaon Jn.
Tourist guidance centre is available on PF no 1 itself.
