A lot of people get confused when they have to change trains or get on/off at Lucknow because their trains start from two different stations - LJN and LKO. This tip will definitely help them. Look at the attached image. The blue arrow shows Lucknow Charbagh station, also known as the "Badi Line," which is part of the Northern Railways. The black arrow shows Lucknow Junction station, also known as the "Choti Line," which is under the North Eastern Railway. Lucknow Charbagh station is a pass-through station, so trains don't need to reverse here. But Lucknow Junction station is a terminal station where trains have to reverse, as you can see in the image. Now, if you need to go from Lucknow Charbagh to Lucknow Junction, exit from Platform 1 towards the CNB side. Don't exit towards the Varanasi side because you'll have to walk more. Once you're outside, look to the left. You'll see another building in front of you. Go there and enter it. You'll be at Lucknow Junction. This changeover will only take 8-10 minutes. So if you have a changeover at LKO/LJN, 30 minutes is more than enough as a buffer (just an example, never keep a small buffer for changeovers. Always keep at least 2-3 hours for all train changeovers at any station). This LJN station is newer compared to LKO and has fewer options for food, books, and everything else compared to Lucknow Charbagh station (LKO).

Ab agar tumhe Lucknow Charbagh se Lucknow Station tak jaana hai, toh LKO ke bahar aao Pf 1 side se aur CNB side (Iss liye kyunki agar tum dusri taraf se exit karte ho, yaani Varanasi side, toh tumhe thoda zyada chalna padega.) aur bahar aane ke baad, LEFT haath ki taraf dekho. Tumhe ek aur building dikhegi...

You can get AC or NON AC rooms, see the rates in the pic but I suggest you book through the RR tourism site...
Good for a short stay, it has separate toilets & bathrooms ... The bathroom is so big, it's like a huge storage room..
There's a geyser and it's working
Separate fans and charging sockets are also available..

If you've booked online, just go to the backside of the enquiry office (pf1 side) and there's a counter, show your booking details there. They'll check and give you a small paper with the details written on it and give it to the person at the entrance of the dormitory. Fill in the necessary information in the register and you're good to go..

Geyser available hai aur kaam kar raha hai Alag-alag fans aur charging sockets bhi available hain... . Agar tumne online book kar liya hai toh enquiry office ke peeche (pf1 side) jaao, wahan counter hai, apni booking details dikhao, woh log check karenge aur ek chhota sa paper denge jispe details likhi hoti hai, usse Dormitory ke entry ke saamne wale vyakti ko do, us vyakti ko register me zaroori jaankari bhar do aur tum jaao... Food advice - the food at the Comesum outlet in the train station is not good. The pastry they have there is old and smells weird. Just go to the shop called "Manoranjan" on the other side of the station and get delicious packed lunch or dinner, along with sweets and milkshakes. ****They don't use onions or garlic in their food, but it still tastes amazing. The prices are definitely cheaper than Comesum and the quality is the best.

Food tip- रेल कमेसम आउटलेट स्टेशन पर खाने की गुणवत्ता के मामले में खराब है। आउटलेट पर उपलब्ध पेस्ट्री ताजगी खो चुकी थी और उसमे कुछ अजीब सी गंध थी।
कोई सीधे स्टेशन के उस पार चल सकता है और "मनोरंजन" नामक दुकान से पैक्ड लंच या डिनर के साथ मीठाई और मिल्कशेक्स प्राप्त कर सकता है।
****वे आपे में प्याज और लहसुन का प्रयोग नहीं करते हैं लेकिन फ़ूड स्वादिष्ट होता है। कीमतें कमेसम की कीमतों से काफी सस्ती है और गुणवत्ता भी बेहतर है।
