The train is maintained in excellent condition in sleeper by OBH staff
You can expect clean washrooms, no cockroaches and 100 KMPH run throughout the journey.
The onboard TTE and RPF strictly prohibit any ticketless passenger in sleeper coaches in this train.

I have seen many people complaining about the LTT station. I personally feel that it is a very good station but only if you know some things about LTT.
1) If you stay far away from LTT, then please book MERU cab or any other cab online. Never take a cab/auto from the cabs/autos waiting at the stations, they demand ridiculously high fares for even the shortest distances. You can altenately go outside the station inside Tilaknagar where you may get a cab/auto which charges normal fare.
2) If your train reaches LTT
...
at odd time(in case the train is late) stay in the dormitory rather than waiting in the station premises as there are a number of thiefs and they mostly target passengers travelling alone.(Checkout time of dormitory is 8am)
3) Always reach 1hr before the departure of your train to the station especially if you don't know much about the station or if you are first time traveller from this station.
4) The station is well connected to Domestic and International airports and Navi Mumbai by Santacruz-Chembur Link Road(SCLR). Also connected to Navi Mumbai by Harbour Line.
5) Nearest Suburban station is Tilaknagar and if you hav to go to this station please go to the end of the platform it is near from there ascompared to the new building.
6) One good thing is that a lot of people go to Tilaknagar station after the arrival of a train so no problems evan if you arrive at 11pm or 12am.
7) If you have to go to Central suburbs like Vikroli, Bhandup or even Kurla, get down at Thane/Kalyan and get a suburban train from there.

All thanks to Rail Minister coming to LTT for inauguration of LTT - Tatanagar Antyodaya, or else the roads would have never been repaired.

Unfortunately i always have to go to this station as the Secunderabad Duronto arrives/departs from this station.
Some of the tips for first timers visiting this station:
1) It is one of the worst railway stations on the Indian Railways.
2) Precisely, LTT is not connected to Mumbai Suburban train services directly.
Tilak
...
Nagar is the closest suburban station which is at the northern end of the station.
There is a path connecting LTT to Tilak Nagar by which it takes 4 to 5 mins to reach by walking.
3) Never be fleeced by the Rickshaw/Taxi Drivers who would be coming on the platforms offering you cheap rides to your destination.
They charge triple to quadruple amounts.
4) The only good thing about this station is that it has a prepaid taxi stand setup by the government.
Please make sure that you get to the prepaid stand as quickly as possible, because the queue gets very longer on the arrival of a train.
If you need any help regarding travel, ask the Traffic Police who would be near the station.
5) Always keep an eye on your luggage as this station is prone to theft.
6) The other suburban stations in the proximity are Vidyavihar and Kurla.
It takes approximately half an hour to reach Vidyavihar by walk.
7) After 8 pm, drop the option of going to Tilak Nagar Station as the roads leading to the station gets deserted.
8) Most of the trains wait for platform clearance near Vidyavihar Staion.
Please do not alight there as there is no platform and it is really dangerous.
It would be really foolish to do so.
Avoid this station if you can.
Instead, board/align at Thane station, if your train has a scheduled halt there as most trains from LTT do.
The above tips are purely based my experience.
Have a safe journey.

You should never pay extra, be it prepaid or normal taxis. It is completely on you whether you want to tip the driver or not.
They are not entitled to demand extra cash. When you feel the situation is out of control, just threaten them that you would call the RTO helpline and he would silently leave.

That's a problem you are ought to face in Mumbai when you are using rickshaw or taxi.
You may book a meru or some other radio cabs but the cost would go up.

The taxis and rickshaw's in mumbai are better compared to other cities, the problem is only the airport taxi and railway station taxi, they are the ones who really disturb the passengers, i had commuted in mumbai for around 25 years in taxi, i did not face any problems except as mentioned the railway station and the airport guys

For catching any local train, do not go for Kurla Station. Instead go for Tilak Nagar Station which is at 5 min walking distance. From Tilak Nagar, you can get direct trains for Mumbai CSTM, Andheri, Panvel and Navi Mumbai. For Dadar and other stations you can change at Kurla.
Option for Tilak Nagar is better because you don't have direct road for Kurla and it takes much more time and its extremely troublesome there. Kurla Railway station is the next station after Tilak Nagar. So within 10 mins, you will be at Kurla Station on platform.
