Located inside the town of Gadag, built during the Kalyana Chalukyas or Western Chalukya time around the 11th/12th Century is the temple of Trikuteshwara , where the Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara are worshipped in linga roopa. The temple was one of the prototype for the later Hoysala style architecture

Inside the same complex is a ruined but a very ornate structure of Saraswati temple built during the same era. The temple has been ransacked and idol destroyed , but the complex is a very interesting place for photographers, architecture and

history buffs. A new temple for Goddess Saraswati has been reconstructed in 1990s.

A step well of the Chalukyan era, in a ruined but still maintains the beauty .

Located about 12 kms East of Gadag.towards Koppal is the historical village of Lakkundi, housing many temples and stepwells related to the Western chalukyan period . Many of the structures are now ruined, and about 12 os these structures are under the preview of ASI, which also has am office in this town. Though many of the temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva, there are few temples dedicated to Jainism as well. The town also houses a beautiful step well which is under ASI preview . The town is well connected by town buses and express buses from Gadag.
