Good train for GIMB Passengers to NGP/R/SBP/BBS. 1.Problems- A. Is a weekly train with OK timings at Ahemdabad. B.Tickets for Gandhidham/Vadodara/Surat passengers to Nagpur/Raipur/Sambalpur / Bhubaneshwar are NOT easily avaliable. Book them 4 month in advance. C.Pantry... more...
Car not avaliable (However E-Catering avaliable at Nandurbar and Sambalpur). D.Bad timings at Raipur (After Speedup in next TAAG it may be speeded up to reach Raipur by 0100 HRS) 2.Advantages- A. Fastest connection between Surat-Bhubaneshwar B.Cleanliness is just superb and Coaches are also newly made. C.Rush of unreserved passengers is less in SL. D.In return direction it covers a good amount of delay. (However 12993 reaches its destination delayed by 1.5 HRS). 3.Tips- A.Carry your own food as on board vendors are also less B. Book tickets 4 months in advance as RAC Clarence is also difficult in this train (Personal Experience) C. Passengers could use E-Catering(served at Nandurbar) D. Reaches its destination (as 12993) with a delay of 1.5 HRS. Return train is little bit good and a good delay coverer. Thank you.

start from about 5:30am and continue upto 11 pm.. the kalupur AMTS terminal is towards the right side from the entry gate near the Unreserved booking office.. moreover the Sarangpur AMTS terminal is also at a walking distance from the exit gate near the PRS Counter(North end of the stn)... there are a lot of routes that serve to all parts of the city.. the AMTS controllers/localites can guide you. (P.S : controllers maybe a bit rude) the more convenient and comfortable option is the BRTS... the BRTS going towards sarangpur side even come inside the station and stop at the BRTS stand inside the station... as of now due to renovation works going on buses are not coming inside the station also there is the second stop for the buses coming from saragnpur side just opposite the entry gate of the station BRTS Route Details(6 aM to 11 PM) Inside Stop: 2U (towards Odhav Ring Road via Soni ni Chali) 7U (Towards Narol Via Geetamandir Danilimbda ) 8D (towards Iskcon via MJ Library LD engg College nehrunagar) 14 (Towards Vasna via Geetamandir Anjali) 101 ( RTO circle Circular route RTO-Kalupur-Geetamandir-Anjali-Nehrunagar-Memnagar-AKhbarnagar-RTO) the routes at the stop opposite the entry gate 2D( towards Bhadaj Circle via Wadaj Bhavsar Hostel Sattadhar cross road Science city) 7D ( towards Zundal Circle Via Wadaj RTO Chandkheda) 8U ( towards Naroda Gaam) 14 ( towards NAroda Gaam) 201 ( RTO anti circular route RTO circle - Akhbarnagar - Memnagar- Nehrunagar- ANjali - Geetamandir- Kalupur- Wadaj -RTO) if a direct bus is not available then u can purchase a direct ticket and change bus at x-over points the central bus station is at Geetamandir and u can find autos also to go there. apart from the times where transit facilites are not available, ample service of Ola Uber Rapido Jugnoo and loca autos are available and they have pickup drop points inside the station too Comment in case of any other query or details

This tip is based on my observations during my short stay at Ahmedabad for 2 months. A bit longer tip but I have tried to put in all my observations. So here it goes: 1. Cleanliness: If you wish to see the real status of Swachh Bharat, visit the Ahmedabad Railway Station. It is super clean and the cleaning process goes on throughout the day. 2, 3 and 4 which I noted. The bridges are wide and cover all the 10 Platforms. To be precise, the lifts are connected to the bridge towards Vadodara/Maninagar, opp to the AC waiting rooms on PF#1. 3. Bus connectivity: There is a BRTS(Janmarg) bus stop just outside the Railway Station. Do take a ride in these buses which are comfortable and very economical. Ahmedabad BRTS is one the most successful BRTS system in India. The following buses arrive/depart from the station: -Bus No 2: Science City to Odhav Ring Road -Bus No 8: ISCON to Naroda Dham -Bus No 9: Vishwakarma College to Narol -Bus No 101: RTO to Circular Refer the Pic for more info. There is a GSRTC bus station 200 meters away from the Station. To go to the GSRTC bus stop, move out through the first exit towards Maninagar and cross the road. If you are visiting Gandhinagar, take a GSRTC bus and deboard at Pathika Ashram Terminal which is the prime bus terminal of Gandhinagar. 4. Waiting Rooms: The Upper Class, Sleeper Class and Ladies waiting rooms are located close to the first bridge towards Maninagar. The Upper class waiting room is well maintained with ample charging points and good toilets. 5. Chemist/ Medical Kiosk: There is a Chemist shop at Platform no 1. 6. Food: Food is the only disappointment at Ahmedabad Railway Station. Each time I had food at ADI, i regretted it. I searched through the Platforms for the Idli stalls as mentioned in some other tips but couldn't find them. 7. Naming: Ahmedabad is commonly known as Kalupur Railway Station among locals and hence don't get confused. After my short stay, even I started referring to it as Kalupur. 8. Mobile Charging and WIFI: There is a Mobile Charging Unit on Platform no 1. Free(limited) WIFI is available at Ahmedabad railway(For 20 mins). For the detailed procedure to get connected to the WIFI, refer the pic. 9. Metre Gauge: Ahmedabad also provides MG train services. Do travel by the Metre Gauge trains to get a nostalgic feel. The Platform Nos 11 and 12 are reserved for metre gauge services. 10. Railfanning: Again, Kalupur is a great destination when it comes to railfanning. The heavy loaded freight action would be going on almost all the time. Equipped with Mails, Express Trains, Superfasts, Freights, DEMUs, MEMUs and Metre Gauge services, Ahmedabad is truly versatile in terms of Railfanning. Have a safe trip everyone.

This tip is based on my couple of journeys between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. 1. Tickets and availability: Even in the peak season, this is a train on which you can bank on. I traveled during the Christmas season and was successful in getting the tickets. The main advantage and disadvantage of this train are its timing at ADI. journey of 6h 40m, I didn't sleep for a minute. All credit goes to the coaches which give you heavy vibrations and jerks. A couple of times in the night, I felt the train has derailed due to the jerks. If you are looking for comfort, please don't book this train. I was on the lower berth once and side upper berth the second time. Lower berth journey was really unpleasant. 3. Speed: "Blaster" is the word that comes to my mind when I think of my experience travelling in this train. After leaving Ahmedabad, it literally traverses as a rocket blasting through stations. Being a railfan, this is one thing all of us crave for but at night, even railfans require comfortable sleep which is largely disturbed by the blasting speed and coach geometry. Speed is one department where this train doesn't disappoint at all. Continuously hits the 100 km/h mark.
