If you're a day traveller with minimal luggage rather than getting down here, get down at the railway crossing on the main road just before the station. The camel fairground is just a 5-minute walk from the crossing and the Brahma Temple is 15 mins.You'll see that most of the people get down at the same place, as it is closest to the town.
Don't approach the Vehicle owners as they'll charge exorbitantly and claim that it is far. Ask local people for directions or rely on google maps which is pretty accurate.

The bus station is close to 1.5 to 2 km from Brahma Temple and you'll get buses to Ajmer every 15 mins, the ticket costs Rs 14 and the journey time is 30 minutes. The bus will travels through various parts of the city including near Ajmer Sharif Dargah and finally reaches Ajmer bus stand. From here you'll get buses to a lot of Major cities in the vicinity and shared autos to within the city and railway station.
