Yo, this station is like the hotspot for all them religious temples in Ranipet, Walaja, and Arcot. If you wanna check out the famous Ponnai Navagraha kottai temple, you can just click here. And if you're interested in the Ponnai Ashramam, you can click here. Small shop called Great Biriyani at Muthukadai famous for Mutton Biriyani. Whenever i visit Muthukadai i never miss mutton biriyani. For mutton biriyani reach this shop before 1 pm,otherwise it will be sold out. Still u get chicken biriyani also Kushka.Sometimes even these two items sold out before 2 pm.Earlier days it was small shop now it is expanded with good seating facility.
Though this station is named as JUNCTION don't dream and think to catch link train as, It was once historically a Junction, linking town Ranipet by tracks which is now no longer operated. Ref click here for route. Though it was started to renovate it's works halted in present. Nearest actual Junction is KPD and AJJ...
There are lot of local buses plying Sholinghur-Arcot/Ranipet/Walaja (Govt Bus No. 3) and Private buses Arakkonam-Arcot/Ranipet/Walaja via this station. Than Buses that come full, For every train that arrives at WJR, Share autos stand ready to reach Walaja, Ranipet For ₹10 (Via Ammor and not through Walaja like Buses do for ₹7) and Arcot (via Ranipet for ₹20) by which people can travel quickly...
Noticed from Walajah road station to Arcot new line was also is under construction can u confirm whether in Walajah road station full track work and platform is completed ?
i don't know whether From Walajah road to Ranipettai track work is completed or not ,but one year before when i went to Ranipettai i saw a station building with a new platform is under construction. Also taken a picture of Ranipettai station. i will upload shortly.
I actually live here at Ranipet and yeah that Ranipet station building construction works are complete. Just like tracks, that station building lies idle. :-)
Possibly the easiest way for Bangalore-SBC/Coimbatore-CBE/Salem-SA/Erode-ED/JTJ/KPD people for reaching KANCHIPURAM- the TEMPLE Town is to depart here, catch Share auto or Bus (Travel time - 15min) to Walaja Bus station from from all MAJOR ROUTE BUS to and via Kanchipuram will stop. Frequency is same to Chennai buses.. (Every 5 min, one bus except noons and late nights)
