With a view to cater to the long pending demand of passengers for a train from Coimbatore to Palani in the newly converted BG line between Podanur and Pollachi, after persistent efforts of Sri Hari Shankar Verma, DRM, Salem, the following special passenger train is being operated between Coimbatore and Palani, via Podanur, Kinathukadavu, Pollachi, and Udumalpet, for a period of 3 months from 14.01.2018 as a Spl passenger train using the rack of Madurai Palani Passenger Train, to the following timings. The train will have 9 unreserved 2nd class coaches and 2 luggage cum brake vans. ; Consequently, Spl Train No. 06081/06082 Coimbatore Pollachi Spl passenger services will "stand cancelled" with effect from 14.01.2018.
