Besides Shimla, PRS counter is also available in Manali!
Right at the Mall road, so tourists visiting Manali-Rohtang from Shimla can get PRS tickets (Tatkal or otherwise) from Manali itself!

This train is running on pretty old rakes and you will feel pretty violent jerks throughout journey from Chennai to Mysore and onward journey as well, irrespective of SL or AC, the jerks are very high intensity. Pregnant ladies and people with other medical challenges - please avoid this train, if possible. I had complained online to Rlwys, they replied that the entire rake is old and needs to be changed. But, they never change it. Toilets stink badly, as this train is hardly cleaned and while approaching Chennai form Mysore, it takes nearly 50 mins to reach Chennai Central from Perambur junction.
