Best train to see the beauty of Koraput - Rayagada section, which is loaded with Tunnels, tall bridges, thick forests, hills, vast agricultural lands, village tribes, animals ... i mean the train route from Koraput to Rayagada is absolutely BEAUTIFUL.
This train runs fairly empty until Rayagada, so you wont find any trouble getting a window seat / door spot :-)
The mini-samosa's sold by the local vendors for breakfast after the train crosses Damanjodi are super yummy :-)

Take this train 11026 Pune-Bsl upto Karjat, deboard at 13:36 on PF #3 and on the very next PF (EMU PF) there is a KJT-CSTM Fast Local at 14:00 hrs which leaves you to CSTM @16:00 hrs.
This chain is also used by Kalyan bound passengers who dont prefer the detour via Panvel and in the process 20 precious minutes are also saved.

Welcome drink and snacks (Bhujiya, Chana, a small Samosa, Tea, frooti type juice, soan papdi) was provided shortly after the departure. No bedding post covid obviously. 130 MPS started after TKD. Was never at time at each and every station in the trip. The delays began from AGC (15 min) till CSMT (32 min delayed). Though 130 mps was still maintained between various sections (VGLB - BPL , AGC - GWL). Was bit slow in GWL-VGLB route.

If you're a railfan and enthusiastic about consistent high-speed runs, hop on to the Kerala Sampark Kranti at Madgaon till SRR. The moment it starts off from MAO there's no stopping it, the priority and speed will send shivers down your spine! It blasts off the first half of the Malabar coast in as exciting a fashion as you can imagine! No matter how deep a sleep are you engrossed in, the run won't spare you without getting your jaws dropped!
When I travelled, the train departed Madgaon 1 hour 40 minute behind schedule and in the morning it approached SRR at least 20-30 minutes ahead of schedule. I was travelling with three non-railfans and all four of us were equally amazed...
